Omar Shoukri is a film director, music producer, and educator with 30 years of diverse experience in media production. Starting in Stuttgart, Germany, his career has led him to international production houses such as Arte Berlin, CNN and BBC London, MBC Dubai, and National Geographic Abu Dhabi. His work spans from interactive educational content to documentaries and narrative films.
Shoukri holds an M.F.A. in Interdisciplinary Media Practice from Plymouth University, UK, and a post-graduate degree in Expressive Arts Therapy from Switzerland.
He has led training initiatives with the BBC Academy in the Middle East and taught at institutions like New York University and the International University of Applied Sciences in Germany. Currently, he is a faculty member at the Higher Colleges of Technology, Sharjah Women Campus, UAE.
As a director, his short films ‘the water in ourselves’ and ‘three short tales of forgiveness’ have been recognized and screened at venues such as New York University, the Goethe Institute, and international film festivals in New York, London, Berlin, Barcelona, Abu Dhabi, and India.
