Welcome to the Academia Page

My academic path originated in 2006 when I taught undergraduate courses in film and music production at Middlesex University in Dubai. Coaching for MTV Arabia and corporate training to adult learners in the U.A.E. government sector advanced my role to senior lecturer which furthered training initiatives with the BBC Academy for public entities across the Middle East. My experience is aligned with my ambition to create intercultural bridges and with every workshop I gained a deeper understanding of strategical consultancy, didactics and language skills. Finally, I developed syllabi to teach and coach across age groups at the international community at New York University and in Germany. Excerpts of my teaching portfolio can be seen here.

My students and colleagues say that I’m a compelling teacher. If I am, it’s because I love what I do. I rely on research, improvisation, humour, and anecdote to draw an emotional line between my students and whatever subject matter I’m trying to explain.

Teaching and learning are the same journey - a path that teacher and student travel together, and often our roles are reversed.
